#Topic: Obstacles to God eternity (1Cor.6:9-10, Ephesians 4:22-23)
A. THE OBSTACLES (1Cor.6:9-10)
Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God (1Cor.6:10)
* To enter the Kingdom of God, many things (Obstacles) would come our ways to prevent us from entering the Kingdom (cf. Matt. 18:7) We must be determinedly prepared to enter the eternity of God (Matt. 7:13; Lk. 13:24)
* Revelation 21:27 warns us to do away with these ungodly attitudes and actions lest we become part of the unclean things that would not be allowed to enter into God's eternal rest.
B. THE WAY OUT (1Cor.6:11; Eph 4:22-32)
And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of Our God (1Cor.6:11)
* God does not want anyone to perish, but that all men should be saved and be holy (1Thess. 4:3)
* In a nutshell, the way to overcome the obstacles to God's Kingdom is to accept Jesus' lordship, follow Him, and remain in Him uncompromisingly.
Lessons_Derived
1. God's Kingdom is for all but there are little foxes that can debar anyone from entering into it. Avoid them by God's grace and Spirit.
2. The only way to avoid being shut out of God's eternity is to align with Christ and His holiness.

BEING SERIOUS WITH GOD
Text:- Act 20:20 - 27
INTRODUCTION
Things To Note:
1. God does no serious business with unserious people.
2. Until you mean business with God, God can never mean business with you.
3. The place you give to God in your life determines the place He will give to you in His plan.
4. Average spiritual input can never produce maximum spiritual output.
5. Man's move in the direction of God determines God's move in the direction of man (Luke 15:20).
6. Many people claim to be in a relationship with God but God is not aware (Gal. 6:7).
SEVERAL THINGS CAN INDICATE THAT YOU ARE NOT SERIOUS WITH GOD YET:
1. You delight in someone else more than you delight in the Lord.
2. Your soul does not long for times of rich fellowship in God's Word or prayer.
3. Your thoughts in leisure moments do not honor the Lord.
4. You make excuses for doing things that displease the Lord, claiming to be “only human.”
5. You do not willingly and cheerfully give to God's work or to the needs of others.
6. You cease to treat others as you would treat the Lord.
7. You view Christ's commands as restrictions to your happiness rather than expressions of His love.
8. You strive for affirmation from the world rather than approval from the Lord.
9. You fail to make Christ or His words known because you fear rejection.
10. You refuse to give up an activity that you know is offending a weaker brother.
11. You become complacent toward sinful conditions around you.
12. You are unwilling to forgive your offenders.
BENEFITS OF BEING SERIOUS WITH GOD
1. Without being serious with God, success on earth and heaven at last is not possible.
2. Without being serious with God, we are unable to chart our course through life.
3. Without being serious with God, We are unable to achieve victory.
4. Without being serious with God, the seas will remain a hindrance.
5. Without being serious with God, wisdom is lacking.
6. Being serious with God, keeps you away from sin/Carnalities.
HOW TO BE SERIOUS WITH GOD:
1. Value your time with God (Matt. 6:33; Gen. 19:27).
2. Value God's Words of instruction (Jer. 15:16).
3. Live consciously for God (Isa. 43:21).
4. Demonstrate value for God in sacrifice (Gen. 22:1-5, 12).
5. Associate with those that are serious with God.
CONCLUSION
D.L. Moody (The greatest evangelist of the last half of the 19th century, the Billy Graham of his day) was once told something that changed his life. He was told that the world has yet to see what God can do with one person's life wholly and completely committed to Him. What would God do with your life if you completely and totally committed your life to God? You would never regret it and it would be beyond your wildest imagination what God would do. Don't you want to find out? Give God everything. BE SERIOUS WITH GOD!!!
